Operator Algebra

The theory of operator algebras dates back to beginning of the 20th century, and is by now a well established and central discipline within analysis with connections to a vast number of other mathematical subjects. The operator algebra group at SDU covers research in C*-algebras, von Neumann algebras, graph algebras, quantum groups and related topics. Currently, the main focus is on the interplay between operator algebras and group theory, via the large scale project `Local and global structures of groups and their algebras' which is supported by a research grant from the Villum foundation.
