Titel: Questions and quality in educational conversations
In this project I investigate the quality of educational conversations with a high degree of open-ended questions and student engagement. The thesis consist of both theoretical and empirical investigations of quality in classroom conversations, with a special attention to the role and use of questions and thematic coherence in both unfacilitated student group conversations and in teacher facilitated whole-class conversations. The analyses are based on research on and theories of ‘dialogic teaching’ and ‘quality in education’ and ‘pragmatic language philosophy’.
