Masterclass with Professor Yasmin Kafai and Associate Professor Ole Caprani

We plan for physical attendance at SDU, Campus Kolding. 
This is subject to revision if renewed Covid-19 restrictions require it. 
Registration: No later than October 15, 2021 on mail to secretary Jeanet Dal at dal@sdu.dk 
Please include following information in your mail: 
Name and surname - Mail - Programme - University and which course and session (morning or afternoon)
you are signing up for.
Participants: Max 10 PhD students; selected on first come basis
Abstract:  500 words.  
Each PhD student must send a text of max 500 words in whici they provide a short description of their
PhD project and its relation to the topic of the seminar. 
In addition, the text should pose 1-2 questions which the PhD student would like to discuss in the Masterclass.

Program:

Morning session: seminar at Center for Learning CT. Room 61.01 (open for all interested researchers):

  • 10.00-11.15:    From theory bias to theory dialogue Embracing cognitive, situated, and critical framings of computational thinking in K-12 CS education. Professor Yasmin Kafai, University of Pennsylvania.
  • 11.15-11.30:    Break
  • 11.30-12.45:    Project “Wildlife under a plastic garbage island”. Associate Professor Ole Caprani, Aarhus University.
  • 12.45-13.30:    Lunch

Afternoon session with Professor Yasmin Kafai. Room 61.01 (open only for PhD students).
Max 10 PhD students; selected on first come basis

  • 13.30-16.00:    Presentation and discussion of PhD projects, based on abstracts submitted ahead of the MasterClass.
  • Coffee break around 14.45.
