Underway Seminar: Coping during Corona

In addition to our usual activities of sharing the status of research, teaching and studying abroad, well as discussing any specific issues relating to your research that you would like feedback on, this seminar will address how the corona-related restrictions on social interaction influence work and life as a Ph.D. student.

Two guest speakers from the Department of Language and Communication will share their experiences of how the conditions imposed during the corona pandemic affect academic life.

  • Assistant Professor Elisabeth Dalby Kristensen, a member of the RESEMINA project, will discuss the consequences and challenges of lacking access to data as well her considerations about using video data going forward.

  • Associate Professor Nina Nørgaard will, in her capacity of coach for Ph.D. students in the humanities, discuss the many different concerns that students have raised as a consequence of the corona lockdown and other restrictions.

Cindie Maagaard will also give an orientation about upcoming courses and activities for Ph.D. students in the department.

Lunch will be provided for those who register for the seminar.
Please notify Cindie by the deadline above, if you have any special dietary requirements: cindiem@sdu.dk.

Our events are open free of charge to PhD students from our own program, and from all other programs provided they also offer tuition free of charge to our students. ’Soon-to-be’ Phd students may also attend with permission from the event instructors and the Program Director, whom you should first contact if this applies to you (Cindie Aaen Maagaard at cindiem@sdu.dk). We are also very happy if members of staff wish to attend, particularly PhD supervisors, and will accommodate them in lieu of space. We ask all who attend an event to register. You’ll find the online registration form on the same page as the event description.
