Cyber Operations and Cyber Strategy

Formål

From early visions of cyber war to the more modern view of cyber strategy, cyber security has become a core issue for every arena of daily life including international politics, critical infrastructure, business, and social media. We simply cannot escape cyber security and will instead confront it head-on.

This course explores the role that cyber security and cyber strategy play in international relations, military matters, and global business. We will examine the interactions, history, and recent actions of states, militaries, the private sector, and the international community in cyberspace.

The goal will be to explore how states and other actors leverage cyberspace to pursue goals and strategic objectives, including in military operations.

By the end of the course, each student will become a "cyber strategist."
