Gregory Clark Joining HEDG

Thanks to generous support from DNRF, the renowned economic historian Gregory Clark will be joining HEDG

We are beyond delighted to announce that Gregory Clark will be permanently joining HEDG as a full professor. This speaks to the vibrant research environment which we, through collective endeavour, have built at HEDG – we are excited that Gregory recognises this, and will further enrich our research environment.

HEDG is extremely grateful to DNRF (Danmarks Grundforskningsfond / Danish National Research Fund), whose generous support has made it possible to bring one of the leading economic historians in the world to Odense.

Beyond hiring Gregory, the 10 million kroner of funding we have attained will also allow us to further buttress the work of HEDG at all levels, through the hiring of two assistant professors, one PhD student, and one Research Assistant.

Gregory’s work at HEDG will align with and support existing cutting-edge research: in particular, through the application of his innovative research on social mobility to Professor Paul Sharp’s Carlsberg Foundation funded project “Mapping the Human Capital of the Nordic Countries”.
