The Norse in the North project is now open to receive abstract submissions from postgraduate students for its annual conference, this year to be held at the University of York. The theme is “Translation & Transmission”, and the conference organisers invite students from literature, history, archaeology, and art history to submit a proposal. Possible topics include (but are by no means limited to): modern translation of Old Norse texts, Old Norse translations of medieval European texts, transmission of literary, artistic and architectural styles and motifs, cultural influences, and language contact and multilingualism. We are delighted to announce that Professor Heather O'Donoghue will deliver our keynote address.

Please contact norseinthenorth2016@gmail.com with abstracts of 200-300 words for 20-minute papers by 4th March 2016. The conference is an interdisciplinary international event, and abstracts are welcome from all levels of postgraduates at any institution.
