PhD Programmes

The Department of Business & Management offers 7 PhD programmes. They are organized in the following research units:

Consumption Studies
The research unit specializes in sociological and anthropological approach to consumer behaviour research. Consumption is seen as a symbolic activity producing both individual and social identities for the consumer. 

International Business & Entrepreneurship
The research unit specializes in the marketing activities of B2B companies within the setting of an increasingly internationalized world. The unit has i.a. focused on newly started firms (International New Ventures, Born Globals), including international entrepreneurs founding such firms.

Strategic Communication Management
The research unit focuses on the interplay between strategic communication and management using a reflexive, interdisciplinary and contextual perspective.

Strategic Organization Design
The research unit aims to develop and disseminate scientific knowledge relating to strategic organization design as well as managerial implications drawn on this knowledge. The research area focuses on topics such as organizational learning and adaptation, evolutionary models, classical organization theory, and strategy making and evolution.

Integrative Innovation Management
The research unit bridges two faculties, Social Sciences and Engineering, and provides new insights and methods for a cross-disciplinary understanding of innovation management

PhD programmes
The objectives of these PhD programmes are to train students to conduct research in accordance with the profiles and goals of the research units.
