Bachelor's programmes are the first three years of study at the university and will earn you a bachelor's degree.
There is no tuition fee for students from EU/EEA countries or Switzerland. If you are a non-EU student, you must pay a tuition fee, but make sure to look into your options for funding and private scholarships.
The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is the third-largest university in Denmark with approximately 27,000 students, of whom one in five is an international student. The University's campuses are located in four different cities in the Region of Southern Denmark; Odense, Sønderborg, Kolding and Esbjerg.
Structure of a university education
Upper secondary school education
To be admitted to a bachelor’s degree programme, you must have completed an education at upper secondary school level.
Bachelor
A bachelor’s degree programme at SDU typically takes three years – some may take longer. A bachelor’s degree gives you access to continue your studies in a master’s degree programme.
Master’s degree or master’s degree for working professionals
A master’s degree is a postgraduate degree in continuation of a bachelor’s or professional bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree typically takes two years, and a master’s degree for working professionals takes four years.
If you are admitted to your bachelor’s degree programme in 2025 or later, you have other options for your master’s degree programme.
From 2028, there will be 1-year and 2-year master’s degree programmes, as well as various variations of master’s degree programmes for working professionals. What you can choose depends on your education.
