Many patients with severe and highly severe COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) refuse participating in physical training away from home. As a consequence to this, their function level may decline, they will face problems with doing ordinary daily activities and they may be rehospitalised.
To facilitate team training for this group of patients, telemediated, supervised team training in their private home has been developed and practiced in different parts of the country.
The main theoretical approach for telemediated team training is Critical Psychological Practice Research and Science and Technology Studies, including Participant Network Theory.
The aim of the PhD project is to study what telemediated team training means to patients with severe COPD and their relatives in their everyday life, and also to the practice of the health professionals:
- The patient: Which meaning does the training offer have in the daily activities, and which role does the training play in the psysical activities of the patiens – after the termination of the training aswell?
- The relative: Which meaning does the training offer have for their role, assignments and relationship with the patient?
- The health professionals: Which meaning does the training offer have in their work with the patient group?
The project is funded with aids from Trefor, the Danish Lung Association and CoLab Denmark.
