Introduction to the programme

Mechatronic products include, for example:

- Industrial robots
- ABS brakes
- Servo steering
- Electronic sewing machines
- Everyday products such as DVD recorders and autofocus on your camera.

The programme provides you with broad engineering-related knowledge through basic courses in mechanics, electronics, programming, mathematics and physics and you will gain insight in marketing, design and manufacturing. Part of the teaching is carried out together with other engineering study programmes at the university campus in Sønderborg.

Four profiles
You can choose one of four profiles:

The specialisation comprises project and courses within your chosen profile. 

Project work and company problem solver
You become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups.

You and your fellow students:

  • Are responsible for planning and carrying out the project
  • Must work together and meet the deadlines 
  • Solve problems for companies 
  • Have access to dedicated space for project work.

Internship and final project 
In the sixth semester you must complete the engineering internship in a company in Denmark or abroad. Through the internship you acquire relevant work experience of great benefit to you in your following career. In the final semester you carry out the final project – usually also in cooperation with a company. 

Versatile career paths

With this degree you will have a range of job opportunities – in Denmark and abroad. Among other things, you could work as an application engineer, sales supporter, technical consultant, consultative engineer or project manager on the development and design of products consisting of both mechanical and electrical elements. 

You can also continue your studies with an MSc in Mechatronics

Graduates who have completed this bachelor programme are entitled to use the title of Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics.
