Overall, the advisory board will serve as a networking and dialogue-creating forum between the English language programmes and the employers in order to build a bridge between the University and the labour market and to ensure and develop the relevance and quality of the programme. The board is consulted in connection with major changes to existing programme regulations and the planning of new English programmes and programme elements that may become under the auspices of the Board of Studies for English and American Studies. The board may contribute with employer opinions, e.g. on programme regulations, applications for new accreditations and other recommendations.

The advisory board can thus:

  • discuss different study-related initiatives
  • help graduates and their skillsets being profiled in relation to relevant employers
  • assist in the development and maintenance of course elements that aim to increase the student’s knowledge of a relevant job and labour market
  • ensure that programmes are aware of their societal relevance
  • ensure that graduates have optimal conditions for utilising their education in relevant, attractive positions
  • challenge the structure and culture of the Faculty and programmes

As a rule, one meeting is held every year.

The above terms of reference were approved by the Vice Dean on 6 January 2023.
