Methodology and knowledge platform for the resource recovery from selected WEEE

Peter Klausen Schibye

Master Thesis -  Environmental Engineering - 2015

Generalized treatment options for a wide range of end-of-life (EoL) electronics (WEEE) result in less efficient resource recovery due to (1) the varying material composition and product design, and (2) the limitation of the available technologies for treatment. This project analyses the EoL treatment processes at the contemporary Danish e-waste recycling facilities with selected case products. The understanding of EoL system and the performance of selected products is translated into process optimization and design improvement for the product groups. Based on this, a platform is developed for the holistic optimization of resource recovery from different EoL products.
