Project: Patient Pathways

Therefore, the study of patients is currently being rethought as a medical sociological and anthropological study, and to this end, we see health as an individualized and privatized "capital." The project explores the potential of such a patient-centered perspective in sharpening our understanding of the patient.

We particularly want to investigate how a newly developed theory of health capital can contribute to taking into account the cultural and social capital of patients and their relatives in adapting care pathways to the individual patient and their family.

Read the latest article by Anna Schneider-Kamp and colleagues on how a patientological perspective can contribute to tailor care pathways to the capacities of individual patients and their relatives: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jep.13792.
