Graduates report…

”I work for Vattenfall Vindkraft A/S and the University of Southern Denmark, where I am doing an Industrial PhD. My job involves the use of existing concepts for maintenance from other industries, which I develop so they conform to the wind industry.
My work is a great mix of research and practical challenges in a large company, operating across national borders. It provides me with a great opportunity to build a broad international network – both academically and professionally. I am very happy with my job, because I am able to work with exactly what I find interesting. In my work I use my knowledge about innovation, processes, and research in general.
Kristian R. Petersen, Project Manager, Industrial PhD Fellow at Vattenfall Vindkraft A/S and the University of Southern Denmark.

“I have seized the opportunity within the financial industry, where I am working at the largest Nordic Bank, Nordea. Here, I am part of the Graduate Programme, working as a Global Product and Process Specialist in the Authentication & Financial Anti-Crime department. My job encompasses identification of risks, creating business requirements and developing end-to-end solutions that will make the entire Nordea Group compliant to the regulations worldwide.
The ability to understand and communicate with IT on a technical level, while transferring ideas, findings and solutions into radical business context and strategies is where I see similarities between how I was “brought up” as an IB student and my daily job.
The financial industry is changing being forced to adapt to use smarter technologies, use data analytics to understand customer insights and comply with ever-tougher regulations. Being part of that radical change and the feeling of empowerment – shaping the game of tomorrow – is what I find exciting and fun!"
Martin Sichlau-Pedersen, Global Product and Process Specialist at Nordea.
