Special test conditions during the entrance examinations

You can apply for special test conditions if you suffer from dyslexia, dyscalculia, or a physical disability or mental impairment.

When you apply for admission to SDU, you may choose to participate in the admission tests to qualify for the study places in quota 2. Tests in quota 2  include:

  • uniTEST
  • Any programme specific test

The possibility of special test conditions

When you participate in the admission tests in quota 2 you have the possibility of applying for special test conditions. This may be relevant if you suffer from dyslexia or dyscalculia or any physical or mental disability.

You may apply for: 

  • Extra time to complete the test
  • Permission to use chosen aids and computer software, in case of dyslexia or visual impairment. 
  • Other special considerations related to the test

How to apply for special test conditions

You must submit your application for special test conditions when you register for uniTEST. This must be done on SDU's admission portal, sdu.dk/admission, no later than March 20, 12 noon (CET).

You will receive a login to the portal after you have applied for admission via optagelse.dk. 

Please note: Applicants for Journalism must follow a special procedure as uniTEST is not a part of their admission process. Please refer to the Danish version of this page for more information. 

What your application should include

You must upload relevant documentation as proof of your dyslexia, dyscalculia, or mental/physical disability. In addition, you must upload an account of your challenges and needs in the test situation. 

An exam supervisor will be present at any written test. We must inform the supervisor in advance of any special conditions approved in your case. Therefore, it is very important that you describe your specific needs in detail. 

  • During the test, you may need to:

    • take medication if you suffer from illness.
    • take insulin and measure blood sugar levels if you suffer from diabetes - and you may need your phone to register your levels. 
    • leave the test room and stretch if you suffer from back- or muscle pains or pains after surgery. 
    • use specific IT aids, e.g. if you suffer from visual impairment.

  • Documentation of dyslexia/dyscalculia should generally include: 

    • Relevant test results or statement from a specialist . 

    Documentation of physical disability or mental impairment should generally include:

    • Doctor's note with your name, date of birth, date of issuing, and the Doctor's name, stamp, and signature. 
    • Statement from Psychologist or Psychiatrist with your name, date of birth, date of issuing, and the Specialist's name, stamp, and signature.
    • Official medical journals, when relevant.

How does SDU assess your application? 

It is SDU's practice to assign extra time and/or permit chosen aids and special considerations if the application is grounded on extraordinary circumstances which are documented and which require special considerations, so that you are not put at a disadvantage when compared to other applicants participating in uniTEST and any programme specific written tests. 

Answer to your application 

You will receive an answer to your application for special test conditions at sdu.dk/admission.

Please note: To apply for special test conditions does not automatically mean that all requests will or can be met.

No matter if your application is met or not, you will keep your original meeting time for uniTEST.
