The Carlsberg Foundation supports basic science research within science, humanities, and social sciences. Applications that fall outside of these areas will not be considered.
The Carlsberg Foundation grants funds for a range of different purposes such as, young researchers and for internationalization.

Clinical, technical, and applied-oriented projects are not supported by the Carlsberg Foundation.
The Carlsberg Foundation does not provide funding for:
- Clinical and technical research
- Applicants not yet at a postdoctoral level
- Non-scientific staff
- Overhead costs and administration fees
- Exemption from teaching and similar work duties
Funds are normally granted to named researchers.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Carlsberg Foundation application system. The annual deadline is October 1st.
