Over the last 30 years, unemployment levels for engineers have remained below general unemployment levels for academics. Current job opportunities for engineers are very good - in June 2017 unemployment was at 2.1% (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations' statistics for unemployment, p9).
The BSc/civil engineer study programme leads to the 5th highest lifetime income in Denmark, according to a survey by the Economic Council of the Labour Movement.
According to the engineering association IDA, in 2017 the recommended starting salary for BSc graduates is 38,700 DKK and 37,400 DKK for BEng graduates.
The average monthly salary for a privately employed engineer is 55,000 DKK.
