Charlotte Wernberg is a medical doctor since 2014 where she graduated from the medical school at University of Southern Denmark. Since then she has been employed as a junior doctor at the Hospital of Southwest Jutland’s department of gastroenterology and hepatology. She has university–level teaching experience within neuroscience and anatomy but her current field of interest is hepatology and more specifically non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
Since May 2018 I have filled a position as PhD student and clinical research assistant alongside my job as a clinician. The main focus of my research is to examine the role of microbiome composition as a risk factor in the progression of simple liver steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and advanced liver fibrosis.
