Completion of the Programme

The PhD study ends with the submission, assessment and defence of the PhD thesis. The thesis must document the PhD student’s or author’s ability to apply the subject’s scientific methods and to provide a research effort corresponding to the international standards for PhD degrees within the subject area, cf. section 11 of the PhD Executive Order.

Special rules apply for PhD students under the Industrial PhD scheme in relation to the submission of the PhD thesis and procedures for appointing assessment committees, etc. For more information, please see the Instructions for the Industrial PhD scheme at the Danish Agency for Research and Innovation.

If the Thesis is article based, there are different guidelines to follow depending on the PhD programme the student is enrolled at.
