research interests
The research comprises the investigations of innate immunity and matrix biology. The innate immunity research includes biomarker research, and has further addressed immuno-regulatory effects in asthma, COPD, obesity and atherosclerosis. The matrix research comprises basic biochemical molecular characterization of specific matrix component and studies of gene deficient mice, including disease-models of neointima formation, aneurysm formation, hypertension, ageing, asthma and airway enlargement. Innovative research has led to the development of an IP-protected matrix-blocking antibody, with efficacy in reduction of organ fibrosis and vascular leakage in retinal disease.
