Lucy has a Bachelors in biological Science from Oxford and a Ph.D. in tropical forest ecology from Imperial College, London. Her early scientific career focused on questions of sustainable use including the population dynamics and spatial ecology of valuable forest resources in places such as India, Indonesia and the Seychelles. She later moved to Sweden and worked on Boreal forests including topics of climate change, biodiversity conservation, land use conflicts and social-ecological resilience. With many years of interdisciplinary research experience, she has had some degree of success in linking historians, philosophers and even peacebuilders to the way of thinking of an ecologist. She hopes to use these translation and communication skills to support scientists at NAT who might want to explore interdisciplinary collaborations, but she also is just as enthusiastic about basic biology and ecology. Lucy has further experience running non-profit organisations and working with social innovation and entrepreneurship. Thus, she will also be a contact point for the SDU Climate Cluster and collaborations further afield with the public and private sectors as well as civil society. Above all she enjoys collaborative ways of thinking and working and will enthusiastically support and facilitate any kind of project development process, funding strategy or funding application.
