A successful "World Tour"

Picture from the workshop at University of Brazil

The last months, the JUST SOCIETY team has been B-U-S-Y. We have finally(!) been able to visit our partners all around the world! We started our "world tour” with a visit to Ilia State University in Georgia mid-Juni and later a visit to University of Brasilia by the end of that month. This was followed by a trip to The National Law School of India University in Bangalore in July and then lastly, a trip to South Africa and University of Johannesburg in the beginning of August.

The aim of these study tours was to test our course material and online setup with students as well as discuss with our partners and administrative staff when and how to implement the course at the different universities. Luckily, both students and partners were excited about the course, but at the same time, they provided us with thorough comments and feedback which will enable us to make the course even better!

We would like to give a great THANK YOU to our partners who served as great hosts. They planned our trips and made us feel welcomed. They arranged for us to meet other colleagues at our partner universities to present the JUST SOCIETY project. Finally, our partners had found groups of smart (and honest!) students for our workshops.

This leads up to also thanking all the students who participated in our workshops! Without you, the study tours would not have been a success! More than 40 students from law, political science, public administration, social work and other disciplines took on the challenge of testing our course material and provided honest and constructive feedback.

All in all, four very successful trips which were much more fun than the zoom meetings we have held in the past year and a half! We are now in the process of improving the course, so we are ready to launch it in 2023.

We hope that you too had a great summer / winter – depending on where you are.
