Mike has been a member of the research group of Kim Ravnskjaer since 2016, where he has been involved with work on transcriptional regulation in hepatic stellate cells during NASH- and fibrosis development in the liver.
Mike has been employed as a PhD student in ATLAS since January 2018 and is working on projects related to hepatic tissue plasticity in response to diet-induced obesity and regression with a focus on NASH- and liver fibrosis development. His main research focus is to characterize transcriptional regulation in specific liver-resident populations using mouse- and human model systems. His work includes application of single-cell RNA sequencing and a strong computational background to determine this during disease development and regression.
