The Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invite applicants for several positions on assistant, associate and full professor level within bioinformatics and computational biology.
These new positions will be anchored at the Faculty of Science, at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and/or at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The positions are core components in the future visions of Denmark’s and SDU’s Precision Medicine programmes and part of a major strategic investment at SDU involving the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Odense University Hospital (OUH). They will strengthen existing research groups at SDU and OUH, including the newly established Centre of Excellence in Functional Genomics and Tissue Plasticity (ATLAS).
The research fields that we are looking to hire within are
- Computational Systems Biology
- Computational Precision Medicine
- Big Data in Biomedicine
- Multi-omics data integration
We will support the successful candidates in building their research groups within an interdisciplinary context, for example by taking advantage of the computational and experimental platforms and database resources in the SDU eScience Center, the VILLUM Center for Bioanalytical Sciences, the Danish Twin Registry at SDU/OUH, and Danish Patient Databank resources. SDU offers a modern, inclusive, international and interdisciplinary working environment with state-of-the-art facilities as well as a strong tradition for collaboration across the two faculties of Science and Health Sciences and the University Hospital.
