Research Areas
Unit of Cancer Research aims to improve our understanding of key molecular and cellular mechanisms to advance cancer care. We investigate how cancer cells become resistant to drug therapy and develop novel therapeutic strategies to overcome resistance, including drug combinations and siRNA therapeutics. With a focus on the tumor microenvironment, we explore tertiary lymphoid structures and the anti- or pro-tumorigenic roles of various immune cell populations. Our research extends to extracellular vesicles, metastasis, tumor heterogeneity, and molecular markers for predicting treatment responses. By leveraging cutting-edge molecular and cellular techniques, advanced cellular and animal models, and patient samples, we aim to develop more individualized treatment options. Our research involves close collaboration between basic researchers and clinicians, facilitating the clinical translation of our findings.
