From lectures to structured self-study in biochemistry

Adelina conducted a teaching experiment using figure construction to make student reasoning explicit and support integrative understanding of metabolic pathways. The teaching format aimed at deep learning achieved by students taking the lead and teacher role shifted more toward facilitating students learning processes.
Adelina will present her teaching and we will have Q&A’s and open discussions on how such an initiative would work in participants’ own teaching. BiosketchAdelina Rogowska-Wrzesinska is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, working with advanced proteomics and systems-level analysis of biological processes. She teaches fundamental biochemistry and works with developing teaching formats that support integrative understanding and active student learning.
