The Liaison Committee deals with matters that fall under the managerial right. Accordingly, the committee does not deal with matters governed by legislation, political decisions or collective agreements.

It has been agreed that the Liaison Committee holds six ordinary meetings a year, of which four meetings are joint meetings with the Faculty Health and Safety Committee. About 14 days before each meeting, the Chair and the Vice-Chair hold a preliminary meeting.
The management and employee representatives are aware of the provisions regarding their mutual duties to provide information, cf. the Agreement regarding Cooperation and Joint Consultation Committees in the State (pdf). Both parties will continuously assess whether any matter require information or discussion in the Liaison Committee, including matters relating to:
- Goals, strategy and finances
- Personnel policies
- Rationalisation projects and organisational restructurings
- Psychosocial work environment, well-being, stress and offensive behaviour
- Competence development of academic and technical/administrative staff
The employee representatives will continuously assess whether there are any views and matters among the employees which relate to the well-being of the employees and which are important for the cooperation.
Fixed items on the agenda
- Annual deliberation on flexitime at the Faculty of Science
- Workplace Assessment and Well-Being Survey
- Every three years: Results of the mandatory Workplace Assessment (WPA) and the Well-Being Survey are discussed. Each unit also begins work on WPA action plans.
- Other years: Scrutiny of WPA action plans

- In odd-numbered years, appointment of members to the faculty's Liaison Committee.
- Work environment discussion
- The Faculty Health and Safety Committee presents the goals for the year in relation to mental and physical well-being (work environment consultants from SDU HR participate to discuss the results of the internal survey).
- Status on faculty strategies and action plans.
- Status on competence development for academic and technical/administrative staff.
- Accounting for the spending of competence funds in the previous year. SDU HR provides an overview of the staff's participation in courses in the previous year.

- At the end of October, the budget for next year is sent to the committee members for information, including new Student FTE forecasts
