Early admission

You can apply for early admission if all of the following apply to you:

• You have a documented disability
• You meet all educational and language admission requirements by 1 May
• You apply for early admission to your first-priority bachelor’s programme

Please note: Applicants who are still completing their qualifying examination or supplementary courses after 1 May are not eligible for early admission.

If you apply for early admission your admission process requires two applications. 

1. Apply for admission
   Submit your application via optagelse.dk
   Deadline: 15 March at 12 noon (CET)


2. Apply for early admission
   Complete and submit SDU’s early admission application form via SDU's self-service system SPOC (you can apply from 1 February)
   Deadline: 1 May
   All required documentation must be included. 

To be considered for early admission, you must upload documentation that confirms your disability and explains how it affects your studies.

Examples of relevant documentation include:

• Dyslexia test or specialist assessment related to dyscalculia
• Medical certificate or specialist statement documenting a physical or mental disability
• Doctor’s notes from Sundhed.dk

Documentation must generally include:

• Your name and date of birth
• A clear diagnosis or description of your condition
• A brief description of any treatment you are receiving
• A description of how the condition affects your ability to complete an education
• Date of issue
• Name, institution, registration number and signature/stamp of the professional

For documentation from Sundhed.dk, the URL address must be included. SDU may ask for documentation to be translated into English by a certified translator.

Any costs related to obtaining documentation are your own responsibility.

SDU can offer early admission if:

• You have submitted relevant and sufficient documentation
• You are assessed as likely to meet the programme’s admission requirements
• You have applied for early admission to your first-priority programme

Early admission is based on an individual assessment and does not guarantee final admission.

You will receive a response to your early admission application via sdu.dk/admission by 1 July.

• If you are offered early admission, you must accept the offer by 5 July
• Like all other applicants, you will receive a final admission decision on 28 July
• You must confirm your study place according to the instructions after the final decision

If you are granted early admission, you are encouraged to contact SDU’s SPS administration as early as possible. Please note that early admission does not automatically grant SPS, and support can only begin once you have started your studies.
