Exemption from application deadline

In exceptional cases, you may be exempted from the application deadline for admission.

You may be eligible for exemption from the application deadline in exceptional cases when circumstances beyond your control prevented you from applying on time.

Circumstances that may justify an exemption

  • sudden serious illness or accident
  • serious illness or death in immediate family

Circumstances that do not justify an exemption

  • delay, negligence or being unaware of the deadline
  • technical issues
  • short-term illness

How to apply for exemption from the application deadline

Send an email to optag@sdu.dk with relevant documentation for the extraordinary circumstances and a detailed explanation of why you weren't able to meet the deadline, e.g. by better planning.

Apply as soon as possible after the missed deadline. When evaluating your request, we consider how quickly you contacted us after missing the deadline.
