Research and education in the fields of power and industrial electronics

Power electronics is the technology behind efficient control and conversion of electrical energy. It is used extensively in all parts of modern living from harvesting, storing and distributing renewable energy to powering electrical vehicles and data centers.  Industrial electronics describes research, development and production of electrical products primarily for industrial purposes. The SDU Electrical Engineering Section combines expertise in basic and advanced electronics with device and module development for educating electrical and electronics students on bachelor, master, and PhD levels.  

We work closely with the industry. The majority of our student and research projects run in collaboration with local and global business partners. SDU Electrical Engineering builds together with local actors the new Centre for Industrial Electronics (CIE) which will greatly expand research, development and test activities by providing the highest level of research and testing facilities for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, power electronics, reliability as well as advanced failure analysis, digital electronics and control of electrical machines.
