Career opportunities with a degree in Physics

A master’s degree in Physics provides a broad foundation and opens the door to a wide range of career opportunities. Around half of SDU graduates in Physics work in the public sector, while the other half are employed in private companies.

Jobs and industries

If you specialise in biophysics, you will be in demand in hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, and biotechnology companies.

Particle physicists often find roles in the IT sector and telecommunications, as they are trained to tackle complex modelling tasks using advanced computational tools.

Physicists are also sought after in the financial sector, where their knowledge and analytical methods are applied to modelling financial markets using techniques similar to those used in physics. Other opportunities include positions in high-tech companies, engineering firms, and consultancy houses.

Physicists may also work as lecturers at university colleges and other higher education institutions.
