About Syddansk Elite

Syddansk Elite is a unit at the University of Southern Denmark that helps elite athletes pursue a university education alongside their sports career.

Syddansk Elite offers to:

  • Guide and help you organise your academic programme
  • Advise and guide you throughout your course of study
  • Provide guidance on applications for an exemption and other administrative processes
  • Organise an individual study plan
  • assist in some cases where exams coincide with competitions, tournaments, etc. (Please note: The options depend on the programme you are studying.)
  • Change delivery deadlines
  • Sports mental guidance
  • Access to training facilities
  • Help to find study techniques that are right for you

  • You can study full-time or part-time in almost all programmes at SDU’s campuses in Odense, Esbjerg, Kolding and Sønderborg. You can even study Law or for a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration as distance-learning programmes.

  • You can also get a study assistant assigned to you:

    • Introduces you to the programme and the educational institution
    • Help you build a network among fellow students
    • Help you with notes and admissions when your sports career gets in the way of the programme
    • Passing on important information from lecturers

    We recommend that all our students try to find a study assistant themselves, through itslearning, a Facebook group or direct contact with a fellow student, but should challenges arise, we are happy to help you find someone who is willing to help.

 
The help we can offer depends on the programme you’re starting, as each programme has different frameworks and options. Therefore, we recommend that you contact Syddansk Elite if you are considering starting a programme at SDU.
