Admission with an International Baccalaureate (IB)

In general, you are qualified for admission to a bachelor's programme at SDU if you hold International Baccalaureate (IB) qualifications.

The requirements depend on whether you wish to apply for a bachelor's programme or a bachelor of engineering programme:

What you need to apply for bachelor's programmes

You can apply to a bachelor's programme at SDU if you hold the following IB qualifications:

  • IB Diploma
  • Diploma Programme (DP) Course Results or IB Certificate, provided that you have passed all six subjects with a minimum grade of 3, you have at least three subjects at Higher Level (HL), and you have supplemented with at least two individual subjects (minimum one at A-level subject and one at B-level subject).

What you need to apply for bachelor of engineering programmes

You can apply to a Bachelor of Engineering programme at SDU if you hold the following IB qualifications:

  • IB Diploma
  • Diploma Programme (DP) Course Results or IB Certificate provided that you have passed all six subjects with a minimum grade of 3, you have at least three subjects at Higher Level (HL).

Access to your IB results

If you are completing your IB Diploma this year, you must inform your IB coordinator that SDU needs access to your online IB results when they are released.

Please provide SDU’s institution code (000157) to your IB coordinator.

Without access to your online IB results, SDU cannot retrieve your IB documentation for admission.

Be aware of level requirements

To qualify for admission, you must have passed the required courses at the required levels for the bachelor’s programme you wish to apply for.
