In the Earthcare Reading Circle, we read and discuss visions for a post-anthropocentric society from fields such as sociology, economy, anthropology, and philosophy. We aim to mobilize a critical and constructive vocabulary for building a community of learning and (earth)care that can localize barriers and potentials for organizing ecological presents and futures beyond colonialism, capitalist extractivism, patriarchism, and anthropocentrism.
We meet in person 4-5 times per semester. Each meeting will be around 2 hours. Texts will be available for the participants.

Spring 2025
We will continue the PACA Earthcare Reading Circle this spring, reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kemmerer - mother, scientist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. In the book, Kemmerer shows that the awakening of a wider ecological consciousness requires the acknowledgment and celebration of our reciprocal relationship with the rest of the living world.
