About SDU Mechanical Engineering

The section SDU Mechanical Engineering (ME) focuses on issues within mechanical design, structural dynamics, topology optimization, fluid mechanics and heat transmission and materials technology.

Research in  structural dynamics  include mathematical modelling, condition monitorering, structural health monitoring  and modal analysis of  supporting structures in e.g. windmills and offshore constructions.

Research in Multiphysics Simulation and Optimisation focuses on optimization of cooling og electronic components and metal casting processes.

Research in fluid mechanics and Heat Transfer is built on theoretical,   numerical and experimental analysis with focus on innovative applications for  environmental improvement.

Research in the field of  materials technology focuses is on  design and simulation of smart materials,  and on new ways  and methods to produce composite materials.

Research in maritime technology focuses on sustainable operation of vessels and naval constructions with particular focus on energy efficiency, vibration and fatigue.

Within  mechanical design research focuses on construction projects both i collaboration with the industry and internally  at TEK, primarily with SDU Robotics, SDU Health Informatics and Technology, SDU Energy Informatics and SDU UAS Centre.
