Entry requirements
To apply for the Master’s Degree Programme in Data Science, you need a Bachelor’s degree or a Professional Bachelor’s degree. All academic Bachelor’s degrees and all Professional Bachelor’s degrees meet the entry requirements, however, the programme is aimed at students who do not already have a background in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
In addition, we require 5 ECTS within Theory of Science and Scientific Methodology and Methods, or an independently written assignment (bachelor project) of 10 ECTS.
Language requirements
The programme is taught in English. If your qualifying degree is not from SDU, you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English.

Ranking criteria
This programme has a limited number of study places. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available study places, study places are allocated between two sorting groups, non-fee-paying and fee-paying applicants. All applicants are assessed according to the following ranking criteria:
Statement of academic interest.
As a part of your application, you must provide a statement of academic interest of maximum 200 words, in which you must account for the following:
- The relevance of any occupational experience you may have in regard to the Master’s degree program
- Your educational and other experiences (e.g. voluntary work etc.) with relevance to the Master’s degree program
- Knowledge you have about subject areas with relevance to the Master’s degree program, including basic computer skills and proficiency with standard software.
