Move for Well-being in Schools

The research program focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating a multicomponent school-based physical activity intervention targeted school-aged children and youth from 4th to 6th grade (age 10-13 in the Danish school system). The mission is to improve childrens' motivation for and enjoyment of physical activity and movement – and hereby improve their physical self-perception and general well-being.

The project develops initiatives and activities designed to fit the context and everyday life in schools. A special focus is on the group of children, who are particularly at risk of experiencing a ‘vicious cycle’ in physical activity at school, and thus could possess lower motivation and decreased self-confidence for engaging in physical activities.
