At the MSc programme in Pharmacy, you learn about the physical, chemical and biopharmaceutical characteristics of drugs and their significance in the design of pharmaceutical formulations.
You will also learn about the most important disease mechanisms in order to account for the emergence of diseases and disease complexes at several levels.
You will gain knowledge of pathophysiological mechanisms that can be influenced by medication, and you will obtain knowledge of drug effect mechanisms at cellular and organ level. In addition, you will get experience with the development process of new drugs from medicinal chemical screening, over the four phases of the development process to the final regulatory registration and marketing.
You also learn about rational pharmacotherapy in the most common diseases, where you gain knowledge of:
- drug choice
- important side effects
- medicine interactions and toxic effects
- therapy control in the case of the most common diseases
