If you have a relevant education with 75 ECTS within the business economics subject area, but are missing one or more of the required subjects, you can in some cases supplement your bachelor's or professional bachelor's degree.
If your education does not contain a minimum of 75 ECTS within business economics, it is not possible to supplement to meet the admission requirements.
Please note that you must pay for the supplementary subjects yourself.
You can do up to three supplementary courses
It is required that at least four out of the seven specific entry requirements (aside from Theory of Science) are fulfilled by courses in your bachelor's degree.
You can only follow one course after study start
If you are missing more than one subject area, you must have passed part of the supplementary course before the start of your studies – i.e. simultaneously with and before completing your qualifying education or at a summer school after admission and before starting your studies on the master's programme.
Furthermore, you should be aware that you cannot take supplementary courses in either microeconomics or finance after starting your studies. If you are missing one of these subject areas, you must also complete the supplementary course before starting your studies.
Since Microeconomics is offered at a summer school, it will be possible to be admitted at the start of your studies in September on condition of completing a supplementary course in microeconomics. This is not an option at the start of your studies in February.
Finance is not offered at a summer school, and any supplementary course in finance must therefore be passed simultaneously with your qualifying education.
You can follow supplementary courses while doing your bachelor's
As long as you are still studying for your bachelor's or professional bachelor's degree, you can follow supplementary courses.
However, you have to pass the courses before you finish your bachelor's for the courses to be taken into consideration.
You can follow supplementary courses after you have been admitted
You can also be admitted to the programme under the condition that you finish one or more supplementary courses immediately before study start or during the first semester of the Master’s programme.
If SDU offers a summer school course within the relevant subject area, you can take a supplementary course prior to study start.
If SDU offers a course within the relevant subject area, you can take a supplementary course dur-ing the first semester of the Master’s programme.
Discuss your plans with us
We recommend that you talk to a counsellor from Admission before planning your course.
We know all the rules and can help you gain an overview of the possibilities and the challenges you might face.
If you want to follow supplementary courses while studying your Bachelor's, you can apply for enrolment to a single course.
If you want to sign up for an ordinary course before study start with a view of being conditionally admitted, you also have to apply for enrolment to a single course.
Please note that even though you complete the relevant supplementary courses, you are not guaranteed a study place in the programme. This is due to the fact that we have a limited amount of study places. So you might risk paying for single courses without entering the Master's programme.
If you wish to be admitted under the condition that you follow one of our summer school courses before study start, or a regular course after study start, you simply have to apply for the Master's. If you are offered a place in the programme under the condition that you supplement your degree, we will sign you up for the relevant course(s).
