Generally, you can be re-enroled provided that:
- you have passed the entire first year of studies
- there are vacant study places in the programme
- you meet the entry requirements of the programme
- All Bachelor and BEng Engineering programmes require a minimum GPA in quota 1, however when you apply for re-enrolment it is the quota 2 GPA minimum requirement that must be met. Programmes with a quota 2 GPA are Pharmacy, Medicine and Clinical Biomechanics
Furthermore, your possibilities depend on why your previous enrolment was discontinued.
Did the university stop your enrolment?
If SDU stopped your enrolment in the programme, you can only start again if you can prove that your chances of completing the programme have bettered significantly.
You have to present a written statement
As part of your application, you have to upload a written statement explaining how your chances of completing the programme has bettered significantly.
Fill in your written statement in this form
You have to present the matters which you think are relevant as to your chances of completing the programme. For instance you can draw on:
why you didn't complete the programme in the first place
what relevant activities you have participated in since your enrolment stopped
how you have strengthened academic skills relevant to courses which you were previously unable to pass
significant changes to your health conditions
significant changes to personal or private matters of relevance
Remember to attach documentation regarding relevant matters, to the extend this is possible.
Documentation of health conditions
If illness or other health conditions have prevented you from completing the programme then a doctor´s note may be deemed as relevant documentation if it includes the following:
Stated times for the first and last medical consultation
Clarification of whether the medical assessment was made on the basis of own examination or the patient’s information
Description of how your condition has affected your ability to study
Information regarding a possible fit note or future prospects for further treatment.
Please check that the doctor´s note also includes:
Your name, civil registration number (CPR) or date of birth
Date of issue
Doctor´s name, CVR or provisions number as well as a signature and stamp
Did you stop your enrolment yourself?
If you stopped your enrolment yourself, you can apply without any special documentation.
If, however, you withdrew at a time where the University would have discontinued your enrolment anyway, you must apply in the same manner as if the University discontinued your enrolment - see the info above.
Remember that at least 5 months must pass from your date of withdrawal before you can start in the same programme again. I.e. you have to withdraw before April 1st to start again in September.
Unsure whether you have passed the first year?
If you haven't covered the entire first year, you cannot be re-enroled. Inestead, you have to apply for re-admission once again. If you are unsure whether first year is covered, you can apply for re-admission as well.

Application deadline is March 1st for admission to study start in September and November 1st for study start in February. Unless the programme is covered by the ministerial dimensioning of study programmes (see below), you can apply for a enrolment in February or in September, not depending on the regular study start of the programme.
You can apply from January 1st/October 1st. We will answer your application no later than August 1st/December 20th.
Special rules for dimensioned programmes
A number of programmes at University of Southern Denmark are covered by a ministerial 'dimensioning', regulating the intakes in programmes within certain academic fields.
For dimensioned programmes:
- you can only apply for study start in September
- you cannot expect an answer before August
- you can only start if there are still vacant study places after the admission of first-year students

A limited intake capacity
There are special rules for dimensioned programmes because a limit is set to how many students can be taken in each year. The limit covers applicants who apply for regular admission to the first year of the programme as well as applicants wanting enroll in a later step in the programme.
