The Department for the Study of Culture is committed to ambitious, long-term oriented research as well as to development and research mediation in cooperation with external partners both nationally and internationally.
The department has 11 research groups, established on January 1 2017 for a period of 3 years, with several groups within each of the department’s major academic fields: Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Literature, Media Science and Education. The Department has furthermore a varying number of research projects, most of which are externally financed.
Finally, a number of centres that are particularly characterised by cooperation with external partners (cultural institutions and educational institutions) are also affiliated to the Department.
The Department has two Doctoral Programmes, one covering the disciplines of Philosophy, Education and Media Science, the other covering Literature, Aesthetics & Culture.
