With a number of new strategic objectives to be pursued at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at SDU in the coming years, Professor wsr Kristin B. Munksgaard can now add yet another title to her CV, namely Vice-Dean for Strategic Development. Already part of the Faculty’s management team, Kristin B. Munksgaard has headed the university’s business school since June 2021 – a position she will continue to hold.

As Vice-Dean for Strategic Development, Kristin B. Munksgaard will head the Faculty's thought leadership and focus areas within funding and external collaboration, while Vice-Dean for Education, Jan Guldager Jørgensen, is responsible for the work with new flexible teaching methods and the continuous development of the field of education.

Peter Møllgaard, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, looks forward to the continued collaboration with Kristin B. Munksgaard.

- Kristin is the driving force that, together with the rest of the faculty management team and the entire Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, will ensure that the strategy is translated from words to action. She has both the academic and managerial foundation to ensure collaboration with the business community and co-creation with society, which is an important part of the Faculty’s mission.

Strengthens the bridge to business and society

About her new role and tasks, Kristin B. Munksgaard says:

- It is super important that we continue to have a strategic focus on the external funding of our research at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. Last year’s excellent external funding totalled approx. DKK 100 million, so we already have a really good starting point to work on, and I look forward to taking part in this work.

- Also, the interaction with the community is a common denominator in all our activities, both when we prepare our students to use their university education throughout their working life, and when we create research in collaboration with the community or bring basic research and knowledge out into society. It is crucial that we constantly strengthen the bridge to those around us, also by trying to secure funding for research that is translated into society, says Kristin B. Munksgaard.

New strategy

The appointment of the new Vice-Dean for Strategic Development comes at the same time as the Faculty has just adopted a new strategy headlined ‘Beyond the obvious’.

The new strategy will ensure that the Faculty is well equipped to meet the challenges and opportunities of the coming years. A number of initiatives within funding, external collaboration and flexible teaching and learning opportunities will contribute to this.
