The research unit Movement, Culture and Society (MoCS) works with humanities and social science research. Movement is at the heart of the unit's understanding of human life as well as the cultural and societal relationships that shape and frame human development.
MoCS conducts research on and with people. This research is thus strongly based on empirical approaches to the analysis of different levels and forms of movement.
MoCS's research has its theoretical foundation in the humanities and social sciences, including cultural theory, philosophy, history, sociology and anthropology.
The Centre for Sports, Health and Civil Society is an important part of MoCS. CISC's research activities are predominantly externally financed.
The research unit is headed by associate professor Susanne Ravn
