SDU Education

SDU Education is the central entity for educational administration and development at SDU. We serve and support students, management, and colleagues with a wide range of tasks at the intersection of operations, development, and strategy.

About SDU Education

The unit handles specialized tasks across SDU and in close collaboration with the faculties, where the education-related tasks are anchored. Thus, SDU Education contributes to coherence, quality, and efficient operations throughout the university's educational area. With a focus on standards and digitalization, we continuously work to strengthen and further develop educational administration, ensuring it supports seamless student journeys and creates value for both students and academic environments across SDU’s campuses.

Strategic Office is a cross-functional unit that supports SDU Education with HR administration, project management and secretariat support, including support to the Education Council and the Coordinating Forum for Education.

We also coordinate and contribute to strategic educational initiatives across SDU, including the quality assurance system, the programme portfolio and education administration.
Operations covers a broad range of expertise within system management, education law, curriculum development and maintenance, study data, student progression, and admissions to graduate and continuing education programmes.

Building on strong professional expertise and a focus on operational reliability, we develop robust and coherent solutions for SDU.
Preboarding is responsible for bachelor's admissions and student recruitment at SDU. The unit processes applications for bachelor's programmes, provides guidance to prospective students, and plans and delivers recruitment activities such as Open House, Study Try-out, and SDU Takeover.
SDU Centre for Teaching and Learning (SDU CTL) supports the development of teaching competencies among lecturers at all levels and works towards clarifying and recognising pedagogical skills.

We offer the Lecturer Training Programme aimed at newly appointed associate professors, and workshops and courses to teachers, supervisors, instructors, and heads of studies.

Student Services is responsible for all student-facing functions within SDU Education.

The unit covers academic guidance, student grants and support schemes (SU and SPS), administration of international exchange students, and support for elite athletes, student life and student communities at SDU.
Planning brings together SDU's operational tasks within teaching and exam administration into one unified unit.

We ensure stable and cohesive support for the educational programs and lead efforts in harmonization, process development, and digitalization across the university.
SDU Education in Kolding, Esbjerg, Sønderborg and Vejle works closely with academic staff to plan and coordinate teaching and examinations.

We are the students’ primary point of contact and provide guidance and support throughout their studies.

We also coordinate cross-programme activities such as Introduction Week, Study Visits, Open House and Graduation.
