Dr Carol Gold

Dr Carol Gold taught at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from 1980 through 2014. She has a PhD in Modern European History (1975) and an M.A. in Scandinavian Studies, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1967), and a B.A. from Antioch College (1964). She has published two books, Educating Middle Class Daughters (Copenhagen, 1996) and Danish Cookbooks (Seattle & Copenhagen, 2007). Dr. Gold was the first Coordinator of UAF's Women's Studies Program (1992-98) and founder of UAF's Women's Center. In 2004, she was given the "Feminist of the Year" award by the Alaska Women's Lobby. When she retired, she was the Arthur T. Fathauer Professor of History.
