Background: Health Education, with additional experience in research and teaching within university pedagogy.

My main interests include exams, tests, and assessment (such as multiple-choice questions, oral group exams, and admission tests), active learning, and the use of cases in teaching (including team-based learning and case-based learning).

When providing support in Case-Based Learning (CBL), I offer courses on creating effective frameworks for CBL and the teacher’s role as a facilitator of student discussions. The course is a half-day, in-person session with preparatory tasks provided on itslearning. It combines practical exercises with short lectures, and we explore the history of CBL and how it can be applied in participants’ own teaching contexts.

The participants develop a plan for a CBL session tailored to their own teaching context and receive feedback from peers and from me. Those who wish to continue with the second part of the course can implement their planned CBL session with the opportunity for supervision and reflection—perfect for inclusion in a teaching portfolio as an example of pedagogical development and reflective practice.

Within the area of exams and assessment, I offer the courses MCQ – Construction and Quality Control of Multiple Choice Items and Assessment Basics. The teaching philosophy behind my courses is rooted in pragmatism and progressivism, meaning participants can expect their own practice to be integrated into course activities. Dialogue and feedback are also central to my teaching. In addition, I provide consultancy support to any SDU programme that wishes to develop or redesign its exams.
