Centre for Industrial Mechanics (CIM) is a newly established centre which, together with Centre for Industrial Electronics (CIE), will attract and educate talented students to enter the companies and generate additional growth for the companies and the region.
With outstanding research within mechanics and mechatronics, CIM will contribute to the development of profound professional competences within disciplines in which regional companies are world leading, including industrial automation, e-mobility, hydraulics, robots and wind turbines.

Despite that society is gradually reopening, we must still pay extremely attention to COVID-19 and potential dissemination. Thus, students from SDU Sønderborg have 3D printed a so-called Corona door hook to avoid direct contact with door handles.
New Centre for Industrial Mechanics on its way in Sønderborg
SDU joins together with Bitten & Mads Clausen Fond, LINAK, Region of Southern Denmark and Sønderborg Municipality to establish a new Centre for Industrial Mechanics (CIM) with research, new laboratories and related engineering study programmes within the field of mechanics. The total investment amounts to more than 93 mill Danish kroner by 2030.
