Thomas Buchvald Vind took up his position as University Director at the University of Southern Denmark in May 2017. As University Director, he has worked purposefully to ensure that SDU’s administration delivers solutions to researchers, students and collaborators with a focus on coherence and efficiency.

Throughout his professional career, Thomas Buchvald Vind has worked with managing, optimising and changing public organisations and private companies, as well as developing strategies, bringing them to life and translating them into concrete results and gains. Before joining SDU, Thomas Buchvald Vind served as CFO, Director of Group Finance with the overall responsibility for financial control at the University of Copenhagen. Prior to this, Thomas Buchvald Vind was Managing Consultant with PA Consulting Group. Here, too, he also chiefly worked with the educational and not least university sector, which have been key focal points throughout Thomas Buchvald Vind’s career.

Other positions and managerial duties

Thomas Buchvald Vind is a member of the steering committees of Campus Odense and Nyt SIS as well as the Committee of University Directors and the Financial Group (Chairman) under Universities Denmark. In addition, Thomas Buchvald Vind is a member of the board of Svendborg Gymnasium (Chairman) and a member of the board of Ejendomsselskabet Den Fynske Forskerpark.
