SDU welcomes over 900 new engineering students

The Faculty Dean, the Mayor of Odense, tutors and mentors stood ready to welcome the new Engineering students.

On Tuesday, more than 900 future engineers got started on their studies at SDU, and around 800 of those who will study in Odense were bid welcome by both the Dean and the Mayor before a week of intro-events got underway.

"We have looked forward to meeting you and together making full use of our ultra-modern facilities here on campus," said Dean Henrik Bindslev.

"You have chosen a difficult and demanding education, but one that is exciting and with great prospects. Prospects for you. It will open the way to an exciting work life. A work life where you can make a real difference for others. And prospects for society. Because we, society, need you," he said.

Student city, Odense

While the Dean welcomed the new students to their studies, Odense's Mayor, Anker Boye, welcomed them to the city. He encouraged the young people to use the city - and especially Odense's many cultural events.

Dedicated tutors and mentors also stood ready and in the coming weeks will do all they can to make sure the new engineering students get off to a good start with their studies.
